So, first off, Beach House is my favorite band. How could I not design them a gig poster? I created this primarily to get a feel for how gig posters are created, how their response is, and the aesthetics (or lack thereof) are brought into the design. I wanted something very illustration heavy, so I drew the main figure, a dog that I was particularly familiar with the anatomy of. I experimented thereon with the type, background, texture, until I was satisfied with the end result.
